Meet the Team
Actuary & Financial Planner
Mark Berry is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute. Mark started Berry Actuarial Planning in 2002 with the goal of applying actuarial skills to the provision of financial planning advice delivered in a professional transparent manner paid for by the customer to deliver their outcomes, thus enabling those seeking to be engaged with the management of their own financial plans to be empowered to achieve outcomes appropriate to their circumstances as opposed to outcomes that suit an institution.
In this respect, he has contributed to both the financial planning and actuarial professions with his paper titled "An Actuarial Journey into Financial Planning" (Read Here). Mark also appeared in the section Actuary Unearthed, if you want to read more about him.
Mark Berry
Anthony Street
Actuary & Financial Planner
Anthony is a qualified Actuary with over 30 years of experience across life insurance, superannuation and investment management. In 2011, Anthony joined Berry Actuarial Planning to help individuals plan for and achieve their financial objectives, which Anthony believes can be strongly enhanced through the utilisation of actuarial skills to understand and manage future outcomes.
Anthony previously worked for Macquarie Investment Management, in product and portfolio management roles, Mercer Investment Consulting in London, consulting to a range of UK pension schemes, and Zurich Australia as an Actuary.
Penny Butler
Actuary & Financial Planner
Penny joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2017. She enjoys using her skills and knowledge to help customers define and navigate their own financial path.
Penny has over 15 years’ experience in insurance and financial services. Before Berry she was a Director with Deloitte, where she had worked for 13 years in Australia and the UK. There she provided actuarial consulting services and advice to a range of insurers, banks and other financial services companies. She then moved to CommInsure where she led the actuarial pricing and data analytics team for Direct Life insurance products.
Alexander Sterligov
Financial Planner
Alexander joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2017, and enjoys working with clients in all capacities, with a particular focus on investments. He has attained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Nicole Raffin
Actuary & Financial Planner
Nicole joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2011. She provides specialist technical assistance to financial planners in the areas of taxation, superannuation and various financial planning strategies.
Nicole worked for 8 years at Macquarie Bank - for some time as the operations manager for the Macquarie Wrap super product, and the majority of time as a technical manager. She worked at Heffron for 18 months as a technical specialist for self managed superannuation funds, and 5 years at Zurich Financial Services in a variety of actuarial roles spanning life insurance and general insurance.

James Chen
Financial Planner
James joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2023 as a financial adviser with over 14 years of experience in the financial service industry. He has previously worked for institutions of various sizes, ranging from the major banks to boutique firms.
He enjoys working with clients and feel sense of achievement when he is able to help them to achieve their goals and put them in a better financial position.

Harry Mo
Accountant
Harry joined Berry Actuarial Planning’s accounting team in September 2023, bringing over 14 years of experience from professional accounting firms.
His expertise lies in navigating complex areas such as Capital Gains involving real estate assets and the sale of business interests, Estate Tax, GST, Small Business Entities and Group Restructuring.
As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and a registered Australian Tax Agent, Harry provides a distinctive skill set to guide clients through the intricacies of financial and tax matters, ensuring financial excellence.
Luke Ray
Mortgage Adviser
Luke commenced with Berry in 2022 and is now an integral part of our mortgage team.
His goal is to help our clients manage their debt and financing as well as assist the younger generation seeking to purchase their first home, whether it be forecasting cashflows and repayments or negotiating with lenders. He enjoys meeting new clients and assisting them in achieving their financial goals.
He has completed Bachelor of Business Administration and Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking.
Angela Chan
Accountant
Angela Chan commenced with Berry Actuarial Planning in 2012 and has since helped form the accounting team. She likes to apply her extensive knowledge on taxation and self-managed superannuation funds to enable our clients to fulfill their goals, whether it be young entrepreneurs or retirees.
She has completed her Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Pracitising Accountant. She is also a Registered Tax Agent and Associate of the Tax Institute of Australia.
Ly Huynh
Financial Analyst
Ly joined the Berry team in 2019 and is fundamental in ensuring that the business systems operate efficiently and accurately.
With a focus on insurance advice, Ly is passionate in helping clients achieve their financial goals and devoted to providing the highest quality support to advisers.
Ly has completed her Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and is currently working towards her Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.

Johnjoe O'Reilly
Financial Analyst
Johnjoe joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2022. He works mainly with the accounting team to ensure all clients’ tax matters are met. Focusing heavily on setting up and maintaining the portfolio management system to improve client engagement.
He has completed his Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. He is currently working towards completing his Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning before starting the tax agent course.
Mary O'Leary
Office Manager
Mary commenced with Berry in 2019 and is an invaluable member of the team.
She enjoys building relationships with our clients and always ensures a high level of customer service is maintained.
She further assists our financial advisers' with implementing their strategies and ensuring their financial security.

Enzhou Shi
Financial Analyst
Enzhou joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2023. He enjoys working with clients and helping with financial strategy implementation to ensure clients’ financial goals are met. Enzhou focuses on assisting financial planners with advice preparation and personal taxation affairs.
Enzhou completed his Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Bachelor of Science in 2022 and is currently working towards his Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.
Jordan Ndongo-Keller
Financial Analyst
Jordan joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2024. Since then, he has been supporting advisors in matters relating to advice preparation, implementation of financial strategies, personal taxation affairs and further development of business systems.
Jordan has completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in business law and is currently working towards his Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.
Thomas Ding
Financial Analyst
Thomas joined the Berry Team in 2024. Since inception, he has been supporting financial advisors in implementing financial strategies for clients whilst also helping streamline business operations.
Thomas focuses on assisting financial advisors with advice preparation for clients’ superannuation planning, SMSF, taxation and trust funds.
Thomas completed his Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Bachelor of Commerce in 2023 and plans to pursue his Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.
Sammi Chung
Accountant
Sammi joined Berry Actuarial Planning in 2023. She is enthusiastic about navigating the complexities of tax compliance and self-managed superfunds. As such, she enjoys helping clients with their tax preparation and optimizing their tax outcome.
She has completed her Bachelor of Professional Accounting in 2022 and is currently working towards her Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA).

Bookkeeper
Debra commenced with Berry in 2023 joining the Accounts Team in the role of Bookkeeper.
Debra has over 15 years Bookkeeping experience working for a wide range of businesses including the last 11 years for a boutique Real Estate Agency.
When she’s not organising financial transactions, Debra loves to put on her backpack & get out in nature maintaining a healthy lifestyle balance.
